Advanced Monitoring - Customized Dashboards
Introduction
Horizon Customized Dashboards is a feature of the Advanced Monitoring Module. It allows users to customize the reporting
according to what they would like to see for each service. The outcome displays this in a full-screen page able to be displayed on
dedicated monitors or TV screens. The intended use is for NOC and IT departments to be able to monitor these reports,
but it does not limit the use for other purposes.
Customized Dashboards
This Horizon module is only enabled if the customer has requested Advanced Monitoring as part of their service.
Upon enablement, the client will be able to see a relevant tab on the left panel following log-in in to Horizon.
Setup Instructions
1. Select the “Customized Dashboard” icon to begin
The next page will provide you with a list of your services.
You can select which ones you wish to activate in the Dashboards by enabling the switch on the right next to each service.
2. You can select the order “Sort” of each service is presented by arranging each service in sequence.
Just drag and drop the services with your mouse in the order you like from the left-hand side.
3. Having selected the services you wish to include, you now can define the metrics you wish to see for each service.
Select the first service from the list to start customizing.
4. You can select a Monitoring Widget from the right side of the screen and drag it to the left in the relevant position of the “Display Area".
Note that there are 3 rows of information. For each row, you can select to either have the metric displayed in 50% width or 100% width. You cannot have in the same row both a widget in 50% and a 100% width.
5. You can get assistance in selecting the correct monitoring widgets by selecting the view option on the right of each metric.
6. From the bottom left corner, you can select:
- Preview the slide
- Select the slide time (default is 30 seconds)
- Save the changes to your monitored service
7. Perform the same actions for all the services you wish to see in the customized dashboard remembering to save the changes
8. Run the dashboard
9. You should be able to see the dashboard as you have built it rotating between services at the selected interval.
